Make-up Mask
The idea of this art project came after studying various ancient traditional masks from different cultures of the world. Every mask has a meaning and a certain creative expression corresponding with that meaning. Every detail like colour, face features, and emotional expression on face has a meaning.
This 3D Make-up mask series have been created using computer digital techniques to generate a variable pattern that follows face features and topology of a given head characteristics, size, shape, surface curvature, etc. The same pattern of the 3D make-up will look differently on every face and head and emphasize a character of who is wearing the mask. Also, the material and colour of the make-up mask can be different. By varying colour and material different look and character can be achieved.
This project is still in experimentation stage and an ongoing research that started years ago after Leon collaborated with fashion designers on many experimental head pieces.
