Concept proposal for a competition entry.
Wumart Technology south headquarters is located in Futian Central District (CBD) of Shenzhen. It is in the core area of Shenzhen. Its superior geographical location extends in all directions, connecting the city's commercial center with the surrounding comprehensive central district. The landmark building is located in the northeast corner of the intersection of Fuzhong road and Jintian road. The total area of the tower is 90,000 square meters. The 220m tower with unique design language and simple and bright lines, has evolved from the city’s distinct urban fabric. No matter from which direction you arrive the building either Fuzhong road or Jintian road it will naturally attract people's attention with the unique character, conveying Shenzhen’s image as a international city. The vertical streamline design language of this project also echoes with the streamline line of Shenzhen Citizen Center on the west side of the tower, A colonnade of sculptural curved columns on the facade embodies the traditions inherent within the finest examples of surrounding architectures in Futian CBD, which not only coordinates the harmonious relationship between the buildings along the line and the surrounding comprehensive central area, as well as the urban skyline.

The fluid architectural language of the building is inspired by Guqin, a traditional Chinese plucked instrument with a history of nearly 3000 years. Guqin is the most noble instrument in ancient Chinese culture. The story of Guqin's "high mountains and flowing water" has been handed down to this day. Architecture is solidified music. The design of Wumart Technology South headquarters is inspired by Guqin. Using strings as the design language and clean and smooth lines to solidify the music and melody on the building, turning them into proportion and rhythm.

The strings of the building facade extend down to the public square, connecting the building with the public leisure area, which makes it more convenient for pedestrians to enter the interior of the building. By connecting the landscape with facade of the building at the bottom of the tower, a new public space full of vitality is created. This is an inspired project that will enrich the city, creating a new public plaza and amenities as well as improve connectivity for all pedestrians.

On the top of the tower, there is an observation deck with an indoor bamboo garden and restaurant, The crown of the tower is one of the important parts of this building. It creates a magnificent view over the city, and its neighborhood. The garden on the top will biologically filter contaminants from the local environment and low-volatile organic compound materials will be installed to minimise indoor pollutants and particulates. Continuing the district’s ambitions for optimal integration throughout all aspects of the development to increase efficiency and well-being, Tower’s procurement will also target embodied carbon reductions and recycled materials.
